In brief: CribDuel is a cribbage game published by IOCODO LLC. It is free to download and play. Play fair, do not automate the game or abuse other players, and you keep your account. Online play depends on services we can change or interrupt, and the game is provided as it is, with no promise that it will suit a particular purpose.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By downloading, installing or playing CribDuel ("the App") you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with them, do not use the App. If you are under the age required to consent in your country, a parent or guardian has to agree on your behalf.
2. Who provides the App
CribDuel is developed and published by IOCODO LLC ("we", "our", "us"). It is a 1v1 game of cribbage: two players, one board, 121 points to win, played offline against a bot or online against another player through matchmaking.
3. Your licence to use the App
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, sell, rent, decompile or reverse engineer the App, or strip out any notice it carries, except where the law says you may regardless of this clause.
4. Accounts and guest play
You can play offline with no account at all. Online play needs an account, which can be a guest account created on the device or an account linked to an email address, Google or Apple sign-in. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to it.
A guest account lives only on the device that made it. If you delete the App, sign out of a guest session or lose the device, that account and its history cannot be recovered. Link the account to an email address, Google or Apple if you want it to survive.
Choose a display name that other players can be shown. Names that impersonate somebody, advertise, or insult and harass others can be changed or removed.
5. Fair play
Online cribbage only works when both sides play the same game. You agree not to use bots, scripts, modified clients, packet interception or any tool that plays for you or reveals hidden information, not to exploit a bug instead of reporting it, and not to abandon matches deliberately to manipulate a result.
If we find behaviour of that kind, we can reset a rating, remove a leaderboard entry, restrict matchmaking or close the account, in proportion to what happened.
6. Ratings, leaderboards and statistics
Rating and leaderboard are optional features of online play. Ratings, standings and match statistics are computed on our servers and are not a property or a prize: we may recalculate, correct, reset or retire them, for example after a scoring bug, an abuse wave or a change of season. Nothing in the game has monetary value and nothing can be cashed out.
7. Price, purchases and advertising
CribDuel is free to download and play today, offline and online. We may introduce paid features, a subscription or advertising in a future version of the App. If we do, the price and what it covers will be shown before you buy anything, purchases will run through the App Store or Google Play under their own payment and refund rules, and the Privacy Policy will describe what changes for your data.
We do not sell in-game items or currency for real money outside the App, and any offer that claims otherwise is not ours.
8. Availability, online services and updates
Offline play against the bot works with no connection. Online play depends on matchmaking, presence and database services that can be interrupted for maintenance, be degraded by network conditions, or be changed and discontinued. We do not promise that online play is available without interruption.
The App can require you to update to a supported version before you can keep playing online, and we can shut down a build that carries a serious defect. We can also change, suspend or end a feature, or the App itself, and we will give reasonable notice inside the App when that affects online play.
9. Intellectual property
Cribbage itself is a traditional game and nobody owns its rules. Everything we made around it, the name CribDuel, the interface, the artwork, the board, the sound and the code, belongs to IOCODO LLC and is protected by copyright and other laws. Rights not granted to you here stay with us.
10. Third-party stores and services
The App is distributed by Apple and Google, and it uses Google Firebase for authentication, matchmaking, database, analytics and crash reporting. Your use of those platforms is also covered by their own terms. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and are not responsible for the App, though Apple may enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary where its rules require it.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App is free of defects, that online play is uninterrupted, or that any result, rating or statistic is preserved. Where the law does not allow a warranty to be excluded, the shortest period the law permits applies.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, IOCODO LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost progress or lost ratings, arising from the use of or inability to use the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free download is zero. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
13. Termination and deleting your account
You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it, and you can delete your account and its data from inside the App, in Settings, or by writing to support@iocodo.com. Deletion removes your profile, statistics and ratings, and it cannot be undone.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms. Sections 9, 11, 12 and 15 survive the end of your account.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the App changes or when the law requires it. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version, and a material change will be announced in the App or on this page. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept it.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which IOCODO LLC is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Where local consumer-protection law gives you stronger rights, those rights prevail.
