How to use Cubofix

1. Scan the six faces

Tap Solve and show the cube to the camera one face at a time, in the order the app asks for. Light the cube from the front: with a window or a lamp behind it, the colours are hard to read.

You can also enter the colours by hand instead of using the camera.

2. Check the colours

The app shows the six faces it read. If a sticker is wrong, tap it and pick the right colour. When the colours cannot make a real cube, the app tells you which sticker to check.

3. Follow the turns

The solution plays one turn at a time on a 3D cube. Hold your cube the way the screen shows it, make the turn, then tap Next turn. You can step back, replay a turn and slow it down.

Each turn is also written in standard cube notation, such as R, U' or F2.

4. When the app says your cube cannot be solved

Turning alone cannot solve every cube. A corner may have been twisted in place, or the cube may have been put back together the wrong way, and the app shows which piece it is. A twisted corner can be turned back by hand. A cube put back together the wrong way cannot be solved by turning.

5. Learn to solve it yourself

Learn opens a course in seven stages that teaches a beginner method, one layer at a time. Each stage shows the case on a 3D cube and the turns for it, and you can try them on your own cube. The first two stages are free, and Cubofix Pro unlocks the others.

6. Time your solves

Timer gives you a scramble to apply to your cube. Hold the pad to get ready, let go to start the 15 seconds of inspection, then tap anywhere to stop. Your times stay on your phone, with your best time and your averages of 5 and of 12.

Cubofix Pro

Cubofix Pro is a one-time purchase through the App Store or Google Play. It unlocks the whole course, the full timer statistics and the cube themes. Scanning a cube and following its solution are free.

New phone, or reinstalled the app? Open Settings and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the Apple or Google account you bought it with.

Privacy and your data

• Turn usage statistics and crash reports on or off in Settings > Privacy choices.
• Remove your timer history, course progress and settings from your phone with Settings > Delete my data.
• To ask us to delete anything we hold about you, write to support@iocodo.com with the subject "Delete my data".
