Frequently asked questions
What is Russio?
Russio teaches English speakers the Russian alphabet and language, from the very first letter up to a solid A2 level. It uses active recall, spaced repetition, finger-tracing of letterforms, and audio recorded for correct stress, so what you learn actually sticks.
The whole app works offline. There are no ads and no streaks that punish you for missing a day.
Do I need an account?
No. You can install Russio and start learning immediately, with no sign-up and no personal information. If background sync is available, the app uses a private, anonymous identifier behind the scenes to back up your progress. It never asks for your name or email.
How does the review schedule work?
Russio uses a spaced-repetition scheduler (FSRS). Each letter and word you learn is scheduled to come back for review just before you would forget it. The more reliably you recall something, the longer until it returns. Missing a day simply reschedules your reviews; nothing is lost and you are never penalized.
Why does it ask me to type or trace instead of just tapping?
Producing the answer yourself, by tracing the letterform or typing the sound on the in-app keyboard, is what builds durable memory. Multiple-choice is used only the first time you meet a new item; after that, Russio asks you to recall it actively. That is the core of why it works better than tap-only apps.
Something in a lesson looks wrong. How do I report it?
Tap "Something looks wrong?" on the lesson or review screen and choose the type of problem. The report includes only the item, the problem type, the on-screen text, the app version, and your anonymous identifier; no personal information. We use these reports to correct content quickly.
How do I turn practice reminders on or off?
Open Settings and use the daily reminder option. Reminders are off until you enable them, and you choose the time. They are scheduled locally on your device; we do not send push notifications from a server.
How do I delete my account?
From the app: open Settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete account, then confirm. This permanently removes your learning-progress backup from our servers, deletes your anonymous account, and clears all learning data stored on your device. The action cannot be undone.
Alternatively, email support@iocodo.com with the subject "Russio Account Deletion" and we will process it within 30 days.
Does Russio show ads or track me?
No. Russio contains no advertising, no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, and no cross-app tracking of any kind. Your learning data stays on your device, with an optional anonymous backup. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.
How do I report a bug or crash?
Email support@iocodo.com with:
- Device model and OS version
- App version (visible in Settings)
- What you were doing when it happened
- Whether it is reproducible
How do refunds work?
Russio is a free download. If a future version introduces paid features, refunds are handled by the store you purchased through:
