Delete your account and data

1. From the app, which is the fastest way

1. Open Germanio.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Scroll to the Account section at the bottom and tap Delete account.
4. Confirm. If you had linked an Apple or Google account, that provider asks you to sign in once more so it knows the request is yours.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

2. What gets deleted

• Your account itself, including the anonymous identifier and any Apple or Google account linked to it, along with the email address and display name that linking gave us. For Sign in with Apple, the app's access to your Apple account is revoked as well.
• The backup of your learning progress: your spaced-repetition schedule, your answer history, your citizenship and DTZ simulation scores, and your settings, including your selected Bundesland.
• Your voice recordings from the Sprechen (speaking) practice, which are stored only on your device and are removed with the rest of your on-device data.
• Any content reports you sent through the app.
• The device and version record described in section 6 of the Privacy Policy, and your notification registration, so nothing further can be sent to that installation.
• All learning progress held on the device you are using.

Any copy left in our backend systems is removed within 30 days. Afterwards the app keeps working normally, from zero, as a fresh install.

3. What does not get deleted

• Your one-time purchase. It belongs to your App Store or Google Play account, not to the account in the app. It stays valid and comes back with Restore purchases. Deleting your account is not a refund request: for that, contact the store you bought from.
• Aggregated usage statistics, which do not identify you and cannot be traced back to a person.
• Crash reports, kept for up to 90 days to monitor stability and then deleted.
• Device backups made by Apple or Google, which you control in your system settings.

4. If you no longer have the app installed

Write to dev@iocodo.com with the subject "Germanio Account Deletion", sending the message from the email address you used to link your Apple or Google account. We need that to find the right data and avoid deleting someone else's account.

We complete the request within 30 days and confirm by email when it is done.

If you only ever used Germanio as a guest, there is no email address attached to your account and we have no way to find it. Reinstall the app on the same device and use Settings, then the Account section, then Delete account, or simply uninstall: guest data is tied to that installation.

5. Deleting less than everything

To erase only your study progress and keep your account linked, open Settings, scroll to the Account section and tap Reset progress. This wipes your reviews, your scores and your Sprechen recordings, on the device and in the cloud backup. Your account and your purchase stay. To keep your data and only disconnect, use Sign out, which deletes nothing.
