Delete your Gustamo account

You can delete your account and its data at any time, in the app or by email. Deleting it cannot be undone, so export your recipes first if you want to keep them (Settings, then Your data).

In the app

Open Gustamo and go to Settings.
Tap Delete account at the bottom of the page.
Confirm. If you signed in with Apple or Google, the app may ask you to sign in again first, to make sure it is you.

By email

If you cannot open the app any more, write to support@iocodo.com with the subject "Delete my data".

If you signed in with Apple or Google, write from that email address or tell us which one you used. We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours. We reply within one month and tell you when the deletion is done.

What is deleted

your account: the random user ID and, if you signed in with Apple or Google, the name, email address and user ID we received
everything stored with your account on our servers: your recipes and the small photo copies saved with them, your week plans, your grocery lists and their check marks, the aisles you chose for ingredients and the invite codes you created
what you added to a shared household. The other members keep what they added, and if you are the last member, the household is deleted too

What is kept, and for how long

Backups: Our provider, Google Firebase, removes deleted data from its backup systems within 180 days.
Terms you accepted: We keep the record of each time you accepted our terms of use for 6 years after you delete your account, so that we can prove which terms you agreed to if a legal claim arises. It holds your user ID, the version and language of the terms, when you accepted them, the app's build number, whether your phone runs iOS or Android and which acceptance screen you saw. It does not include your IP address.
Usage statistics: Statistics already sent are not linked to your account and are deleted on their own: usage events after 2 months, and the identifiers linked to them up to 14 months after the app last sent statistics.
Crash reports: Deleted on their own after 90 days.
Sign-in records: The IP addresses of sign-in requests are kept by Firebase Authentication for a few weeks.
Emails: If you wrote to us, we keep your emails and our replies until your request is handled, then for up to 12 months.
Your phone: What the app keeps on your phone, such as full-size photos and the offline copy of your data, is deleted when you uninstall the app.

We keep anything longer only if the law requires it. The privacy policy has the full list.

Deleting only some data

You do not have to delete your account to remove a recipe, a plan or a list: delete it in the app. To stop usage statistics or crash reports, turn them off in Settings, then Privacy choices.
