Gustamo

A guide for Mealime users

Moving from Mealime?

Mealime has announced that its app will be discontinued on October 21, 2026. If it is how you plan your week, here is what Mealime says will happen, and how to keep cooking the recipes you like in Gustamo.

What Mealime has announced

These points come from Mealime's own notice, which we read on October 5, 2026:

  • The Mealime app will be discontinued as of October 21, 2026.
  • Its recipes continue in Meals Hub, inside the grocery apps and websites of Albertsons Companies.
  • Pro subscribers are not charged again before the app is discontinued.
  • All personal data is deleted when the app is shut down.

Read the details in Mealime's notice. If you shop at an Albertsons Companies store, Meals Hub may be the simplest move, and the recipes you know will be there.

If you would rather keep your own planner

Gustamo plans your week from your recipes: the ones you save from websites, photograph from cookbooks or write yourself. It is made by a different company, IOCODO LLC, and it is coming soon to iPhone and Android.

What will feel familiar

  • A simple plan for the week, with tonight's dinner on top.
  • A grocery list sorted by aisle, with quantities added up across recipes.
  • Servings that scale to the number of people you cook for.

What is different

  • Recipes from any website you choose, not from one catalogue.
  • Photos and screenshots of recipes, read on your phone.
  • One list shared with the people you live with, ticked from any phone.
  • Export of all your recipes in open formats, whenever you like.

Keep the recipes you cook most, step by step

Do this before October 21, while the Mealime app and recipe pages are still there.

  1. Make a short list. Start with the dinners you cook most often, then add the rest if you have time.
  2. Save each recipe's link. Open the recipe on mealime.com and copy the address from your browser, or use the Share button in the Mealime app if it offers a link. Keep the links in a note.
  3. Or take screenshots. Capture the ingredients and the steps. This keeps working after October 21, because Gustamo reads recipes from screenshots on your phone.
  4. Bring them into Gustamo. Once Gustamo is on your phone, tap Paste a link for each saved link, or Photo or screenshot for each screenshot. In Safari you can also open a recipe page, tap Share and choose Gustamo.
  5. Check each recipe once. Look over the ingredients and steps Gustamo found, then add the recipe to your week.

Recipe pages on mealime.com publish each recipe in the standard format that recipe websites use for search engines, which is what Gustamo reads from a link. We checked two of them on October 5, 2026. We do not know whether those pages will stay online after October 21.

Your plans and lists

Mealime says personal data is deleted when the app is shut down. If you want to keep this week's plan or a list you use often, write it down or take a screenshot before October 21. Gustamo can read a recipe from a screenshot, and you can type a list item in a few seconds.
