1. General information

BuckBack ("the App") is a mobile application published by IOCODO LLC ("we", "our", "us"). It lists open U.S. class action settlements. For each one it asks a few yes or no questions based on the court notice, shows a verdict with its reasons, shows the deadline and links to the official claim form.

This policy explains what the App keeps on your device, what it sends to service providers, and why.

2. No account

BuckBack has no account and no sign-in. It never asks for your name, email address, phone number, bank details or Social Security number.

Because there is no account, there is no account to delete, and so no account deletion page. Section 7 explains how to remove what the App keeps on your device.

3. Data kept only on your device

The App stores the following on your device, and never sends any of it to us:

• The settlements you save
• Your answers to the eligibility questions
• The settlements you mark as filed, with any confirmation number you type in
• Your reminders, which your device's operating system holds
• Your settings: appearance, state or territory, and whether reminders are on or off

This data is part of your device backup. It is removed when you uninstall the App, subject to that backup.

4. Data sent to service providers

The App uses the Firebase services below, provided by Google LLC. None of the data they receive is linked to you as a person.

• Firebase Analytics receives:
  • usage events: the screens you view, the settlement pages you open and the official forms you open
  • an app-instance identifier
  • your device model and operating system version
  • a coarse region that Google derives from your connection
  It never receives your eligibility answers, verdicts, state or territory, dates or confirmation numbers.
• Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports and diagnostics, with an installation identifier.
• Firebase Remote Config, Firebase Installations and Firebase App Check: technical identifiers. They are used to configure the App and to confirm that requests come from the genuine App.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging: if you allow notifications, your device subscribes to a topic so the App hears when new settlements are added. The push token is handled by Apple and Google to deliver those messages, and we do not store it.
• Firebase Hosting: serves the list of settlements that the App downloads. It keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address.

5. Official claim forms

When you open an official claim form, the App opens it in Safari, on the official settlement website. BuckBack never files a claim for you and never fills a claim form.

6. Reminders and notifications

Reminders are optional. For a settlement you save, the App can remind you a week before its deadline and again the day before. Your device's operating system holds these reminders, and you can turn them off in the App's settings.

If you allow notifications, the App can also hear when new settlements are added, as described in Section 4.

7. Removing your data

Everything listed in Section 3 is removed when you uninstall the App, subject to your device backup. BuckBack has no account, so there is no account to delete, and the data described in Section 4 is not linked to you as a person.

8. Children's privacy

BuckBack is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We update this policy before any change in how the App handles data reaches your device. When we do, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
