How it works
How to use the cube solver
The solver takes the colors you enter, checks that they make a real cube and works out a short solution, usually about 20 turns.
- Hold your cube with the white center on top and the green center facing you.
- Copy each face onto the net: pick a color, then tap its stickers. The centers are already in place.
- Press Solve, then make each turn on your own cube as the solver shows it.
The app
Skip the typing: let your phone read the cube
Cubofix reads the six faces with the camera, guides you on a 3D cube and teaches you to solve it on your own in seven short stages.

Questions about the solver
Is this cube solver free?
Yes. Enter the colors and get the whole solution, with no sign-up and no limit on how many cubes you solve.
How many turns does the solution take?
Usually about 20. The solver looks for a short solution, so its turns don't follow the beginner's method.
To learn a method you can do from memory, try the course in the Cubofix app.
Why does it say my cube can't be solved?
Most of the time one color went on the wrong sticker, and the solver outlines the stickers to check.
If every color is right, one piece sits in a way that turning can't fix: a twisted corner, a flipped edge or two swapped pieces. The solver tells you which one.
What do R, U and F mean?
Each letter names the face you turn.
- R right
- L left
- U top
- D bottom
- F front
- B back
- R a quarter turn of that face, clockwise as you look at it
- R' the same turn, counterclockwise
- R2 a half turn, either way
Which cubes does it work with?
The classic 3x3 cube with the six usual colors: white, yellow, red, orange, blue and green. Other sizes, such as the 2x2 or the 4x4, are not supported.
